Decided to get some ice cream before heading on the sea bus to downtown. They do accept American dollars, which I thought was weird. The ice cream was alright. You are allowed to try samples, but the lady asks you try more than one flavor on one spoon. They should try to get different sampling spoons. They have some seats and tables outside or you can sit in the market area near the water.

Came into the gelato shop to get some gelato and I was declined samples. How should I know what I would like to purchase if I cannot try a flavor.

Lonsdale has many ice cream vendors that are so much better.
I don't like coming here. But, my daughter often insists on getting her "rainbow ice cream" which they carry. Over the summer, when Vancouver had the heat wave, the refrigerators at Ross were having difficulty keeping their ice cream properly chilled. Subsequently, the ice cream was on the verge of melting as they sat in their tubs. By the time we walked out of the store with our ice cream, it had already begun to liquefy. Melting in no way affects the taste, but it turned the treat into a gooey, sticky mess.
Ross does not have a huge selection of flavours, and their prices are not cheap either. I'd suggest going elsewhere for you ice cream fix. -

Standard box ice cream but great prices for the area. I was looking for something cool and creamy. Customer service was indifferent.
